چکیده

3D Cryo-Bioprinting A vertical cryo-bioprinting technique is reported by Yu Shrike Zhang and co-workers in article number 2108931, which concurrently allows the user to create freestanding filamentous structures containing interconnected, anisotropic microchannels featuring gradient sizes aligned direction, also associated with enhanced mechanical performance. This method further extended a multi-material format, finding potential applications interface tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, drug discovery, personalized therapeutics.

Metamaterials: Snapping Mechanical Metamaterials under Tension (Adv. Mater. 39/2015).

By exploiting snap-through instabilities, D. Pasini and co-workers design a damage-tolerant mechanical metamaterial that snaps sequentially under tension, thereby accommodating a very large deformation up to 150%. On page 5931, they describe how the nonlinear mechanical response of the metamaterial can be robustly programmed by tuning the architecture of its unit cell.

Mechatronic Design for an Extrusion-Based Additive Manufacturing Machine

3D printers, especially in the implementation of innovative extrusion processes which do not have a long history of development, are often built by adapting mechanical designs, drives and controls previously developed for generic machine tools. This is done through a process of choice and integration which is based principally on empirical criteria and taking into account separately the differe...

A Novel Extrusion-based Additive Manufacturing Process for Ceramic Parts

An extrusion-based additive manufacturing process, called the Ceramic On-Demand Extrusion (CODE) process, for producing three-dimensional ceramic components with near theoretical density is introduced in this paper. In this process, an aqueous paste of ceramic particles with a very low binder content (<1 vol%) is extruded through a moving nozzle at room temperature. After a layer is deposited, ...
